Photography wasn't part of my original plan.
In 2001, I graduated in Graphic Design with dreams of building a career in print. But as the digital world rapidly transformed the industry, life took me in a different direction.
A few years later, my wife Sharon and I travelled to China to adopt our first daughter, Tianna. It was during that unforgettable journey that I truly discovered photography. Surrounded by unfamiliar landscapes, vibrant streets, and extraordinary people, I found myself seeing the world differently. My camera became more than a piece of equipment—it became a way to understand, remember, and connect.
That single trip changed everything.
Over the next two decades, photography became a lifelong pursuit. I immersed myself in learning the craft, studying light, composition, printing, and visual storytelling. My background in graphic design gave me an appreciation for simplicity and design, while photography taught me something far more important: how to slow down and truly observe.
Like many photographers, I spent years believing that the next camera or lens would make me a better artist. Eventually, I realized that the most meaningful photographs have very little to do with the gear. They come from patience, curiosity, and being fully present in the moment.
Today, my work is centered on landscapes, quiet places, everyday moments, and the timeless character of black and white photography. I'm drawn to images that evoke emotion rather than simply document a scene. My goal isn't just to create beautiful photographs—it's to create photographs that make people pause, reflect, and feel something.
This website is a collection of that journey. Some images tell stories of distant places, while others were made only a few minutes from home. Together, they represent years of learning, exploration, and a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us every day.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope these photographs encourage you to slow down, look a little closer, and discover beauty in the ordinary.
